Rehab exercise for injury (kick to lateral LH distal cannon)

Any suggestions on rehab exercise for an injury (kick to lateral LH distal cannon). Swelling diminishing with residual warm areas medial/lateral of distal cannon anterior to suspensory ligament. Owner has been hand walking and wrapping at night with poultice. Should she be doing short periods of hand walking or stall rest only. Vet has examined-no noted problems with cannon bone or tearing/laceration of tendon/ligaments.

Help with exercise suggestions

I have been working with a horse that fell when she was 4 yo. and strained her SI joint. she is 8 yo. now.

She has responded well to MFR and Craniosacral Therapy, and had chiropractic and acupuncture visits, however she has occasional setbacks and her lower back/lumbar area becomes sore accompanied by stiffness in the midback to sacrum areas.

Her owner was told to canter her in circles and counter canter by a chiropractor-she has been reluctant to do this and has made good progress so… Continue

Equine Assisted Therapy Candidate

We have a horse at our facility who has been in our lesson program for the past 4 years. His name is Merlin and he is a 14yo. TB Gelding.

We have retired him from riding lessons due to chronic back soreness issues and bucking when ridden, However, he loves interaction with people, is great on the ground and would make a wonderful equine assisted therapy horse. We would be willing to adopt him out for free to a good program where he could be used for teaching groundwork skills and have a… Continue

Ay Advice on Re-hab exercises available?

I am working with an older horse (25 yo.) that has been recovering for almost a year with DDF tears LF and RF.

I've been doing bodywork and MFR as Rx by our veterinarian and she has improved greatly. However she is not very stable in the hind....hard for her to stand for shoeing with a front leg lifted and dosn't want to put too much weight on the LF especially.

She has lost muscling and has had to support herself for so long with her HQs. Are there exercise options available once she… Continue

Adequan and generic forms of Adequan

I am interested in finding studies comparing Adequan with its generic forms.
Are generic forms as effective?

Also any studies comparing the effectiveness of Equine MFR compared to other types of bodywork.
