She has responded well to MFR and Craniosacral Therapy, and had chiropractic and acupuncture visits, however she has occasional setbacks and her lower back/lumbar area becomes sore accompanied by stiffness in the midback to sacrum areas.
Her owner was told to canter her in circles and counter canter by a chiropractor-she has been reluctant to do this and has made good progress so far with other exercise regimens. The horse has been doing very well these past several months, but last week when she cantered a few canter circles and did some counter canter-the horse became very sore/stiff in the areas noted above. The owner also read an article recently that indicated that canter circles are not very good to do for a horse that has a hx of SI strain.
Can anyone help with suggestions concerning the course of future exercises/re-hab.
